Fruits and vegetables

In our fruit and vegetable cultivation operations, we employ a combination of traditional farming techniques and modern innovations to produce a diverse array of crops with a focus on Hass avocado and water melon alongside dragon fruit. We prioritize soil health through organic practices such as crop rotation, composting, and cover cropping, resulting in nutrient-rich soils and vibrant, resilient plants. Our produce is harvested at peak ripeness to ensure exceptional flavor and nutritional quality, and we offer a variety of fresh, minimally processed, and value-added products to consumers through direct sales and distribution channels. Notes:

Crop selection and diversification

We practice diversification to reduce the risk of crop failure due to pests, diseases, or adverse weather conditions. If one crop fails, others can compensate for the loss. With Crop rotation, we endeavor to maintain soil fertility by preventing nutrient depletion. We grow leguminous crops that fix nitrogen, benefiting subsequent crops.

This diversity supports beneficial insects, pollinators, and soil microorganisms, enhancing overall farm biodiversity. At Cycris, the use of composts and manures improves soil structure, water retention, and nutrient content. They add organic matter into the soil, improve soil structure, and enhance nutrient cycling.

Pest and disease management strategies.

In lieu of artificial methods, at Cycris we prefer to practice more natural methods of pest management like the use of companion plants, forceful water sprays and handpicking. We have embarked on creating natural insecticides using common household ingredients, thereby making Vegetable Oil Spray, Soap Spray, Neem Oil Spray, Garlic Spray, Chile Pepper Spray that serve as insecticides. This also encourage natural predators like ladybugs, lacewings, and parasitic wasps.

 • Harvesting, post-harvest handling, and storage techniques

Harvesting: By harvesting vegetables at their peak of quality, we ensures optimal flavor, texture, and nutritional content.

Post-Harvest Storage:

In our post-harvest storage, we seek to maintain optimal conditions in terms of temperature, humidity and ventilation.
